Wasabi Wallet is an open-source project with many contributors. When downloading the wallet, you may chose to go to the official site or to the official GitHub to build from source. Wasabi is available at our official site:

Please check signatures after completing downloads, the concern here is that you may accidentally fall for a phishing attempt and be on a malicious site downloading a malicious piece of software.

3 - Keep your mnemonic words and password safely stored (BOTH!)

When creating a new wallet - write down your mnemonic seed AND password and store those safely. Wasabi is a fully non-custodial wallet, which means that should always be in possession of your keys, and this means safely storing a backup in case your computer is lost or the wallet crashes. Often times when things go wrong, users panic. If you have done this step, there is very little you have to worry about. Also, under no circumstance should you reveal the password or mnemonic words to anyone that asks for them. Lastly, understand that if you lose your password, it becomes much harder (if not impossible) to restore your wallet - so store both safely!

4 - Practice good labeling AND try to never reuse addresses

Each time you receive coins, you will be asked to create a label. This label is only for you and is stored exclusively on your device. Wasabi has strong coin control features, and as you continue to use the wallet, you will observe that the history of your coins will appear, and this history is only useful to you if you are practicing good labeling. An example of a good label:
June 20 - $400 from Coinbase, primary account
June 7 - 0.2 BTC Received from Bob via Bisq

Lastly, if you must use an exchange, try to ask for a new deposit address on each deposit. In the same way that you should never receive Bitcoin to the same address twice, you should try to avoiding sending Bitcoin to the same address twice.

5 - CoinJoin whenever possible and be patient!

The process of engaging in a CoinJoin is as simple as selecting a coin or coins to en-queue and entering your password. Once coins have en-queued for CoinJoining, you must keep your computer online and awake, as the CoinJoin process is interactive. As a coinjoin is really just many users (up to 100) en-queuing coins at the same time, it may take up to two hours for you to successfully participate in a CoinJoin and clean outputs should only be spent once the CoinJoin transaction is confirmed. For context, Wasabi currently does 18 CoinJoins a day, or roughly one every 1 hour and 20 minutes. As more users join the network, the frequency of these CoinJoins will go up. Lastly, if you are able and patient enough to re-mix your coins, please do so. Re-mixing coins is nearly free and greatly encouraged!

6 - Use separate profiles

When you put a label on an address, or ask a question on this Reddit or send coins to a merchant be wary of the profile you choose. If you can create a dummy Reddit account as opposed to an account where you may have revealed your personal details elsewhere - use that. When you spend coins from your wallet, consider what you might want to keep private from the merchant or individual you are interacting with. In the same way that reusing addresses hurts your privacy, consolidating all of your online behavior into one profile can do the same.

7 - Never merge mixed and unmixed coins, and avoid large merges of mixed coins!

The first part should be somewhat intuitive - coins in your wallet have shields (red, yellow, green and green +) and it is at a minimum important to never send non-red coins (coins with anonset > 1) with red coins (coins with anonset == 1). By merging your tainted coins with your mixed coins, you undo the privacy benefits of CoinJoins! Further, when sending mixed coins to your cold storage, make sure to send your coins in parallel. Don't merge all of your Bitcoin (more than 0.8 BTC) in a single transaction! Instead, take your time and send coins to multiple addresses belong to your cold storage over a few hours or days. If you are sending coins to an exchange, you can get the same result by requesting a brand new address to receive coins.

8 - Avoid 3rd party servers & Buy Bitcoin P2P

Wasabi is designed to allow users to see their balances without any concern that a third party would be able to link your addresses to you, or to each other. Very few wallets can say this, but if you proceed to enter your address into a block explorer, or use a third party wallet with your keys or your hardware device - all bets are off. So if you want to check on the status of a transaction or the balance on an address, you should first:
(a) Check your Wasabi Wallet
(b) Check through your full node
(c) Use a block explorer through Tor (e.g. Blockstream.info T address)
If you think that forensics companies are not paying big money to block explorers for user information, you are wrong. Even something as simple as leaving a comment on a YouTube video or Reddit post will be scraped.
More importantly, if you are using a hardware wallet, an easy way to undo the previous times you plugged in the wallet through non-private applications is to create a new account on the device with a passphrase. For example, for ledger nano s, you can do this in the device home screen > security > passphrase. Remember Commandment 2!
Remember, Bitcoin is a peer-to-peer cash system, so when you have the opportunity to do so, buy your coins directly from someone you know or through a P2P market place. Not only will this benefit your privacy, it will save you on exchange fees and potential insolvency issues with the exchange you are dealing with.

9 - Run your own full node (if you can)

Wasabi will work just fine without a local full node on your device, however, if you can spare the resources on your device, running a full node will do that much more for your privacy. Local full nodes will (when running in tandem with Wasabi) be automatically used for querying blocks.

10 - Use Lightning

Wasabi is an ideal wallet for many things, but trade-offs exist with everything. If you have small amounts of un-mixed change from previous CoinJoins and you are unable to meet the requirements to engage in a COinJoin, consider using that coin to open a lightning channel. Lightning is still a project in its' early days, but the privacy topology of lightning payments is much more ideal over on-chain payments if you have the choice. Routing large amounts can be uncertain, but for small amounts the network is becoming steadily more reliable. Currently Wasabi does not support in-wallet lightning features, but it is on the road-map.

Question about 24-word seed, migrations.

Apologies up-front. I'm a dummy.
Ok, so my Ledger NanoX wallets are generated from a 24-word seed. I've committed that seed to memory, and I'll absolutely never forget it, so I'm good.
I know that if I lose or replace my Nano, I can purchase another one, type in the 24-word seed, and be back in business.
However, what if, hypothetically, in the future I want to migrate to another device, or a standard wallet in an app like Mycelium or Bitcoin Core?
Is that easy to do, difficult, or nearly impossible?
Here's a similar example: I had a brain-wallet in BRD (Breadwallet) for Android, with a small amount of Bitcoin in it for playing around. 12-word seed (BIP-whatever). I decided to migrate to Samurai, another Android wallet. So I plug in my 12-word seed. Alas, a different wallet-generating standard (BIP-something else). Same for Mycelium on the desktop. So there wasn't an easy way to open my brain-wallet generated in BRD in another app, at least not without some fenagling (sweeping the wallet, etc. - that assumes you have access to the original wallet app).
So, for Ledger, should they in the future disappear or the Nano device no longer be supported or easily obtainable, is it a matter of popping my brain-wallet 24-word seed into another app, or will I have to manually sweep the wallets by having access to the original device?
I'm asking for Bitcoin, but for the other coins (Litecoin, Ethereum, etc.) I suppose this question still applies.
I hope my question makes sense.

Antminer S9 no longer hashing?

Good morning folks,
I have an Antminer S9 that has performed flawlessly. After I moved it to a better location, I noticed that it no longer seems to be working. The green light is flashing, but it doesn't seem to be hashing to my pool (Nicehash).
I'm fairly new to Bitcoining mining and can't make sense of some of the information on my status screen. Before I jump into Bitmain support, I was wondering if anyone could clue me in as to what the problem might be.

The way "I view" the incentive to keep Ether (ETH) is the following and the reason i think it will go up in value is because of "The velocity of Ether moving through the Ethereum economy (Platform)". So the more Ether is used the higher the price will get and in a number of years will see us move down to the lower units finney, szabo, shannon, babbage, lovelace, and wei as the digital economy grows. Ether has 18 decimal places 1,000,000,000,000,000,000. Because after POS Ether total supply will be set at approx. 100 Million with a small inflation of 1 to 3% that pays the computers running it.
So ether will be more like the reserve currency and trade currency between all the other currencies, contracts and Dapps interacting in the Ethereum digital economy. But its main function is like a gas to run the network. Every transaction you have to pay a tiny amount to the network that goes to all the computers running the network. less than 1 penny.

On coinmarketcap.com you can see there are 642 other Blockchain projects listed and some like Bitcoin are 8 years old. 90%+ of these projects are junk projects developed by 1 or 2 people and are just copies of Bitcoin. Some have added extra functions over Bitcoin and Bitcoin is a very secure but slow payment DAPP but cant do much else besides payments.
Ethereum was built from scratch and is built like lets say "android or a smart phone" so that DAPPS can be plugged in as you should have heard from the above videos. So there are now a good few DAPPS that are nearly completion that were built on the ethereum blockchain by different groups of developers. There are alot more but 328 are listed here: http://dapps.ethercasts.com/. So there is not just 643 blockchain projects there are over 1000 but all the ones on Ethereum can communicate or interoperate with eachother. Some notable ones you can see listed on coinmarketcap are Augur, Iconomi, DigixDAO, Golem, SingularDTV etc..... All these because they are built on the Ethereum blockchain can interact with eachother but the other 600+ blockchains can not. This is what makes Ethereum different from the rest.
As DigixDAO is the one i have studied most ill give an example of a DAPP thats built on Ethereum and why a DAPP would be usefull
In industry most work is automated, the operators no longer have to take process samples manually and send to the lab or go and top up a tank manually with certain additives, This is all done by automation, When the process is at a certain temperate, level, viscosity etc.. the instrumentation measures this and adds or pumps the necessary ingredients / additives to make sure the final product is made correctly. This automation has saved alot of costs and manual labour in industry.
What Digix / blockchain is doing is automating alot of the back office paperwork, accounting, agreements etc... Example: company that owns a gold vault (Like Silver Bullion) have employees handling paperwork / sales etc and when people sell and buy gold it changes hands or changes registered ownership and the employees have to manually do this paperwork. What Digix provides is automated software that does all this automatically in 14 seconds. For billing / storage if you have gold stored in the vault you pay about 1% a year so you know if you have $10,000 worth of gold then you need to pay about $100 a year which you pay by topping up your gold (DGX) by $100 and its taken out automatically each day by a tiny tiny amount.
The good thing is that if you have Gold Tokens as your savings instead of Fiat and you need to borrow $ short term you can borrow $ by agreeing to lock your Gold Tokens in a smart contract in the software and pay interest for that loan. If you pay back the loan over 3 months then the gold tokens are automatically returned to your address and you havent missed a gold rally or a Fiat devaluation. If you dont pay it back then the person who lent you the $ gets all your gold (or the % not paid) Again this process is automated in a smart contract and the bullion employee didnt have to settle all the paperwork, transfers of gold or get contracts and agreements signed by both parties, This is done by digital signature / agreements and saves the Vault operator alot of costs.
The vault operator can also earn a bit of the loans interest and $ can be provided by them or even 3rd parties. Using the Ethereum blockchain this can be done for lots of different industries from banking, stocks, insurance, gambling, pritty much everywhere

Antminer S9 not hashing?

Good morning folks,
I have an Antminer S9 that has performed flawlessly. After I moved it to a better location, I noticed that it no longer seems to be working. The green light is flashing, but it doesn't seem to be hashing to my pool (Nicehash).
I'm fairly new to Bitcoining mining and can't make sense of some of the information on my status screen. Before I jump into Bitmain support, I was wondering if anyone could clue me in as to what the problem might be.

Since GPU's are scarce because mining is profitable, you might aswell make the best out of it right?

Mining for dummies:
I guess you are aware that the best cards for mining are RX x70's and x80's as well as Geforce 10 series cards. Because you can factor out the buying price of the card/hardware since your investment was not towards mining, but towards gaming you can mine with the 1080 as well, and pretty much make profit from the beginning on.
Fine, but how much?
Currently, with one 1070 you are able to make somewhere from 3-4$ profit/24hrs, this ofc. depends on your electricity cost and will go down over time as more people get in.
Fine, but what do i need to do?
Download a bitcoin wallet, i recommend Electrum and follow the setup CAREFULLY! If you fail to backup your seed, and have hardware failure / data corruption your coins are gone.
After setting that up, download the Nicehash miner. It essentially is the most noob-friendly miner because it checks whats most profitable to mine with your hardware at a given point in time, mines it, exchanges it to bitcoin and pays you in that. You can also set it up in a way where it will only mine when your system has been idle for N seconds, and stop when its used again.
Moving on, this is relevant to all cards (Nvidia at least) but since i only have a 1070 i can only give you the values for those, you want to overclock your cards Memory, and lower its power target. 80% Powertarget and 4500 Mhz memory seems to be the stability sweetspot. You can use MSI afterburner for this. If you need ideal values for other models you'll need to look around for them yourself, sorry. This will make it more efficient (In terms of how many hashes you get per Watt that your system pulls). Also ofc, up your fan values to the 60-70% range.
Stfu, how do i start mining
Take your Electrum wallet's address and plug it into the Nicehash miner. Close any games you're running and make sure you have applied the overclock / lower power target, click on the Benchmark button and let the miner check how many hashes your system can get in all the algos. When its done close the benchmark window and click Start. In the bottom of the main window you can see your progress, current profit / day, and how much bitcoins you've already mined. As soon as you have 1 mBTC you will get paid out to your electrum wallet.
I've mined some, what now?
You can either hold onto the coins if you believe in bitcoin, and that it will rise in value, or sell them. Keep in mind that depending on where you live, you possibly have to pay taxes when you sell them! But since we are PCMR, you can also use them to pay for stuff on Steam! Just look around a bit, you will easily find some services that accept bitcoins.
Bottom note: If you live with your parents, please dont steal their money. If you now decide to mine 24/7 find out how much the electricity for that costs rougly and pay them back.
TL;DR Download Electrum and setup a wallet, download Nicehash miner and set that up as well. Plug in your Electrum wallet address into the Nicehash miner and start it up. If you want to be more profitable read the above.

The way "I view" the incentive to keep Ether (ETH) is the following and the reason i think it will go up in value is because of "The velocity of Ether moving through the Ethereum economy (Platform)". So the more Ether is used the higher the price will get and in a number of years will see us move down to the lower units finney, szabo, shannon, babbage, lovelace, and wei as the digital economy grows. Ether has 18 decimal places 1,000,000,000,000,000,000. Because after POS Ether total supply will be set at approx. 100 Million with a small inflation of 1 to 3% that pays the computers running it.
So ether will be more like the reserve currency and trade currency between all the other currencies, contracts and Dapps interacting in the Ethereum digital economy. But its main function is like a gas to run the network. Every transaction you have to pay a tiny amount to the network that goes to all the computers running the network. less than 1 penny.

On coinmarketcap.com you can see there are 642 other Blockchain projects listed and some like Bitcoin are 8 years old. 90%+ of these projects are junk projects developed by 1 or 2 people and are just copies of Bitcoin. Some have added extra functions over Bitcoin and Bitcoin is a very secure but slow payment DAPP but cant do much else besides payments.
Ethereum was built from scratch and is built like lets say "android or a smart phone" so that DAPPS can be plugged in as you should have heard from the above videos. So there are now a good few DAPPS that are nearly completion that were built on the ethereum blockchain by different groups of developers. There are alot more but 328 are listed here: http://dapps.ethercasts.com/. So there is not just 643 blockchain projects there are over 1000 but all the ones on Ethereum can communicate or interoperate with eachother. Some notable ones you can see listed on coinmarketcap are Augur, Iconomi, DigixDAO, Golem, SingularDTV etc..... All these because they are built on the Ethereum blockchain can interact with eachother but the other 600+ blockchains can not. This is what makes Ethereum different from the rest.

In industry most work is automated, the operators no longer have to take process samples manually and send to the lab or go and top up a tank manually with certain additives, This is all done by automation, When the process is at a certain temperate, level, viscosity etc.. the instrumentation measures this and adds or pumps the necessary ingredients / additives to make sure the final product is made correctly. This automation has saved alot of costs and manual labour in industry.
What Digix / blockchain is doing is automating alot of the back office paperwork, accounting, agreements etc... Example: company that owns a gold vault (Like Silver Bullion) have employees handling paperwork / sales etc and when people sell and buy gold it changes hands or changes registered ownership and the employees have to manually do this paperwork. What Digix provides is automated software that does all this automatically in 14 seconds. For billing / storage if you have gold stored in the vault you pay about 1% a year so you know if you have $10,000 worth of gold then you need to pay about $100 a year which you pay by topping up your gold (DGX) by $100 and its taken out automatically each day by a tiny tiny amount.
The good thing is that if you have Gold Tokens as your savings instead of Fiat and you need to borrow $ short term you can borrow $ by agreeing to lock your Gold Tokens in a smart contract in the software and pay interest for that loan. If you pay back the loan over 3 months then the gold tokens are automatically returned to your address and you havent missed a gold rally or a Fiat devaluation. If you dont pay it back then the person who lent you the $ gets all your gold (or the % not paid) Again this process is automated in a smart contract and the bullion employee didnt have to settle all the paperwork, transfers of gold or get contracts and agreements signed by both parties, This is done by digital signature / agreements and saves the Vault operator alot of costs.
The vault operator can also earn a bit of the loans interest and $ can be provided by them or even 3rd parties. Using the Ethereum blockchain this can be done for lots of different industries from banking, stocks, insurance, gambling, pritty much everywhere
Other non Ethereum related Youtube people i follow, mainly Economics, Geo-politics, Gold / Silver etc.... These people give some very good info that you wont get from the big media companies or state media. Maybe this will help you understand why you should not keep 100% of your wealth in $ and maybe a few % is worth keeping in Crypto or ever Gold Physical or easier DGX (DigixDAO) or DGD.

Every computer is a DVD & Media Player

DVDs and Netflix don't require any special hardware. Every computer these days already has everything needed to plug into a TV and play any movie you want. In fact there is a plethora of software you can install to play DVDs in multiple formats, from multiple countries, and with advanced video and picture settings. And Netflix can literally be played from ANY web browser, not to mention the standalone app. Anyone who would pay for a completely separate overpriced piece of hardware is just an idiot who doesn't know how to navigate using a keyboard.
If its about the interface and simplicity you could easily create a new virtual disk, download and configure Kodi, install it onto the new disk, and then just dual boot your computer. If its a Mac you might need to reconfigure a bunch of shit and install a custom bootloader like rEFIt or something but jesus is everyone just a huge dummy?!
I post this in jest in response to the "Every computer is a Bitcoin computer" post that is currently on the front page. I don't think I have to elaborate much to get my point across so I'll just stop here. The idea though is that the Bitcoin Computer is a SHORT CUT. Its a simpler, less complex version of the same shit. It was never sold as anything but this. It even details exactly its components. Now funny story if I wanted to run my own node, have a separate bitcoin dedicated device, something that offered better security, allowed me to play around with other bitcoin applications... I would buy a Bitcoin Computer.
The fact that this poster would immediately refer to someone in my situation as shitty or stupid shows insane levels of immaturity. The reason I would buy a solution instead of building one is because i don't have the goddamn time.
People constantly underestimate the value of selling people a device or solution that skips 10 steps of a problem and gets straight to the meat. For fucks sake when I installed my virtual machine of Linux elementary I literally "sudo got" probably 18-19 different packages of software and drivers and all kinds of shit because my resolution was stuck at 640x480. It took 3 fucking hours to make the thing full screen. I would've paid money to not have to deal with that shit.
That is ALL this Bitcoin computer is supposed to be. An all-in-one, I'm to busy to install all this shit or set it up, and I don't want to deal with the first 13 errors I'm inevitably going to get on my custom box, device.
That's cool if someone wants to build their own little custom stuff and take a day or whatever it takes, do all the reading, and find all the software. But my time is worth more than that.
Edit: One of the best things reading back through the original post again is that the poster lists like 8 things that all require a different piece of software (which won't work natively with the other listed examples), and/or setting up accounts and going through long drawn out processes. He even mentions a security solution as being the Trezor, which is another completely separate device you have to buy. The list is supposed to be a "Look you can do everything with just this stuff" and it looks to me like a sales pitch for the Bitcoin computer. It does all that shit out of the box and i don't have to do any of those steps? Well damn sign me up, lol.
